Ruth Martinez-Yepes is a Visual Artist from Colombia. She is interested in linking formal systems with poetic premises. She approaches her practice in dialogue with coding, data visualization, computer image processing, the non-computerized algorithm, and the spectator-agent that co-create the image by interacting with it. She works with interactive installations, drawing, sculpture, and video. Her research focuses on deepening the posthumanist reflection about knowledge production and how it has enhanced relations of power. Moreover, the role that humanities can play to redefine these relations.
Martinez-Yepes received a B.F.A from Universidad Javeriana and an M.F.A in Electronic Art from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá.
